A few years ago, Kathy Stubstad was looking for the next step for her daughter, Katie, who was graduating from high school at age 22.
"It was important to us that Katie have the opportunity to learn skills so she could have a job and also be part of the community," said her mom, Kathy.
The Stubstads came to Cape Abilities.
It's been a good fit for Katie. She works at a variety of jobs including Cape Abilities Farm and at our new venture with the Centerville Pie Company Kitchen at Cape Abilities in Hyannis. In the pie kitchen, Katie helps prepare apples used for the pies. She says this job comes with the added benefit of "building my muscles up in my arms." Katie is also a talented cook who enjoys preparing family recipes. She helped Chef/Owner Weldon Fizell from The Regatta of Cotuit make a delicious butternut bisque.
