Bee Names: K-O

August 04, 2008

Lucy Bee

Lucy is something of a snoop. If a human co-worker is wearing a hat, Lucy will crawl under the hat to see what's there. If another worker is making up a new barrel of hydroponic mix for the plants, Lucy will perch on the side of the barrel to check out the ingredients. She inquires into everything that goes on in the greenhouse and every person who enters.

Millie Bee

Millie is one incredibly fast bee. She flits from flower to flower at top speed. The other bees joke that Millie's full name is really Millisecond, the amount of time, they say, it takes her to pollinate a flower.

Matthew Bee

Matthew is a very contemplative bee. The thing he likes to contemplate most is the color green. Since there's a lot of green in the greenhouse Matthew has a lot to contemplate and spends a lot of time doing so. His co-workers tolerate this because they know how sincere Matthew is and how deeply he thinks.

Let It Bee

Let It was the largest larva ever born in a bumblebee hive. He weighed at almost two tenths of a gram and sucked up sugar water like there was no tomorrow. He has grown up to be a very large, but very friendly bee and he still loves sugar water.

Morgan Bee

Morgan is a bit of a rogue. He sometimes tricks other bees out of flowers and gets in himself. The other bees generally tolerate this, because Morgan is such a hard worker and contributes a lot to the hive.

Marybeth Bee

Marybeth has the longest wings in the greenhouse. This not only allows her to fly faster than most of the other bees, but it also makes her buzzing exceptionally loud.

Nicola Bee

Nicola is a very gregarious bee. She likes to fly in a group, not alone, and she always keeps up her share of the conversation by buzzing loudly.

Max Bee

Max is a small, but exceptionally noisy bee. No one ever has to worry about losing Max. His human co-workers say whenever he is out in the greenhouse you can hear him, even if you're clear on the other side.

Robert McNeill the Bee

Bee2 A new bee has recently arrived at Cape Abilities Farm, named Robert McNeill. The bee is a very productive pollinator, with a steady, unbiased approach to the job. Welcome to the farm Robert.

Keagan, Tanner, Eliza, Erika, Brianna, Whitney and Molly Bees

The Magnificent Seven, as they are known around the greenhouse, always fly in perfect formation from plant to plant with Keagan as leader and Molly in the rearguard position.
