Kay is the oldest by two days. This gives her a leadership role which she fulfills well. Teresa has the nicest buzz in the hive and Ramy is the hardest worker, visiting more flowers than any other bee.
All from Detroit. Actually, the other bees say you can tell by their accents this trio is from South Detroit. Curly, the tall tale teller in the group claims they started as larvae on the Canadian side of the border and got blown one day by a strong breeze across the river to Motown.
Fourteen bees at Cape Abilities Farm have attained the rank of Champion Pollinator so far this season. This is more than have ever received this honor so early in the season. It bodes well for a good year.
So many bees have joined Cape Abilities Farm this week that we have had to limit flying times and ration pollinating stations. It's a massive air traffic control problem.
