Several people from Cape Abilities were recently honored at a breakfast sponsored by the Massachusett's DMR and the Cape Cod Citizens Advisory. The theme of the breakfast was, "What would we do without you?" designed to highlight people with disabilities who have been successful in their lives and work, and the staff that have helped them reach their potential.
David Connelly has worked diligently to increase his independent living skills, and has been very successful in meeting many major life goals. David works at Shaws, where he has been honored as “Employee of the Year” and recently was honored for providing over 25 years of excellent customer service. Kris Pritchett has supported David as a Residential Instructor for the last 5 years, David has continued to grow as person. For example, working with Kris, David has organized and hosted several parties at the home for friends and family. He is also active in community events.
Jodi Adamiak, who is employed as part of Cape Abilities team at Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod in Bourne was honored, along with A.J. Nardonne, his Vocational Specialist. Jodi had not worked for more than a decade, before joining the Cape Abilities team. With A.J.'s help, he has risen above all his challenges and become a strong team participant.
